It accumulates over time from the choices we make. Wellness is an on-going, living, organic process—not a final destination. It affects your body, mind, emotions, relationships, work, and activities. It is a lifestyle decision that is supported by ongoing healthy choices and behaviors.

Wellness is the result, or better yet, the on-going reward of our desire and commitment to living a healthier lifestyle.

The benefits of wellness extend far beyond the individual. Healthier people are generally more productive in their home and at work, and can serve as a credible role model encouraging others to adopt a healthier lifestyle.

Being sick, fat, tired, or poor isn't easy. Just living, for that matter, isn't always easy—especially as we grow older. Yet we can make our lives more difficult and less fulfilling as a result of poor lifestyle behavioral choices, or at least less-than-optimal ones we make over time. While we can't control everything in our life, we can decide to make better choices regarding our health and take reasonable action.

Your Wellness Lifestyle is a free, self-paced, online healthy living education program. It is for anyone that genuinely desires to live a better, more fulfilling life, and is willing to make small, gradual, and reasonable changes to lifestyle behaviors that will move them along a continuum towards better health.

The primary emphasis is on providing easy-to-use, common-sense, educational content and tools to help you learn about, and implement over time, healthier lifestyle choices and behaviors as they relate primarily to whole-foods nutrition, reasonable exercise, stress management, proper sleep, mental health and the use of targeted, high-quality supplements to augment what is lacking in our diet.

Learning Objective

The Learning Objective describes what the student should know after they have completed the instructional content. It clearly defines the expected outcome in terms of knowledge that should be acquired.


Behavioral Objective

The Behavioral Objective describes what the student should be able to do after they have completed the instructional content. It clearly defines the expected outcome in terms of demonstrable skills that should be acquired.


Key Thought

The Key Thought is the main or most important idea that the student should remember after completing the instructional content. It should be easy to state and easy to remember.


Terms

The Terms are important words or phrases used in the instructional text that need further definition or explanation.


Read

The Read section is the main area of instructional text covering the specific subject-matter area. It will typically be 1,500-2,000 words and take about 10-15 minutes to read.


Watch

The Watch section contains one or more videos supporting the topical content. These are generally one to three minutes in length.


Quiz

The Quiz section contains one or more quizzes that provide real-time, educational feedback for every answer option chosen. These typically contain 6-10 questions to challenge your understanding of the subject matter.


Activities

The Activities section contains easy and fun personal activities that enhance learning and encourage participation and discussion. Activities help you to turn the knowledge acquired into personal actions that over time become sustainable, healthier lifestyle behaviors.


Resources

The Resources section contains additional content and tools (some downloadable) that extend the subject-matter area covered or provide related Wellness information.


Discussion Forum

The Discussion Forum is an online community where you can ask questions and share your thoughts and feedback with others.

You should expect to commit about 30 minutes per topic on average to include reviewing the content and performing the suggested activities. This can be done at a time and place convenient for you. All that is required is internet access and the web browser of your choice.
