A recurring regulatory configuration governing the capacity of cognitive appraisal processes to adjust interpretive meaning in response to changing contextual information.

Describes how easily a person's interpretation can shift when new context changes what something appears to mean.

Scope

Applies to the ability of interpretive processes to adapt meaning as circumstances or perspectives change. Distinct from Reappraisal Shift Capacity, which involves active reframing, and from Memory Formation & Retrieval, which governs access to stored experiences.
